I know, I know some of you frown upon it. You think it's too much and that me and my family are weird because of it.

Sometimes I get offended by the things I hear. It bothers me when people talk bad about my family. But then I remind myself not to care because it's something we have always done. It's honestly what makes us "The Lacey's."

Tradition

Honestly, I think my siblings and I are so used to matching that we don't even question it anymore. My mom has put us in matching outfits since we were babies. From the time when it was just me and my little brother Jake, all the way up until there was five of us. Most of the time it's just has me and my siblings who match, but sometimes her and my dad will too. If we're going somewhere as a family she'll try to coordinate us in the same colors. We'll only wear matching sets when it's something like Christmas pajamas. Personally, I think it's so cute. It's something I will probably do for my kids someday. So many people are bothered by it and thinks it's weird.

"It's weird"

So many people say it's weird that my family and I match. They warn boys that are interested in me by saying,"Skylar is crazy, she still matches with her family. That means if you get serious with her, you'll have to start doing it too." The good ones will stick around despite being told that. Joe said, "if that's the worst thing I'm being told to watch out for in a girl that I like, then I'm pretty lucky."Him and I always laugh when people say negative comments about my family matching. When you sit back and think about it... it sounds so silly. Why try to make fun of someone for doing something that has no negative effect on them? How would me matching with my family effect anyone personally?

I got lucky Joe matches with us...without hesitation. He's a keeper (lol)!

Try it sometime

Although it may not be your cup of tea, and that is perfectly okay, I'd still suggest trying it. Next time your family is trying to take an updated family portrait, try color coordinating. You may hate it, and that's okay but at least try it. Personally, I think it makes the picture look more fun, easier on the eyes. When there's multiple patterns and colors going on in a photo it sometimes it just looks a little too chaotic; but that's just my opinion. Especially in a big family. I'm not saying the picture turns out bad, I'm sure it's still beautiful. However, I find that when I look back on pictures of my family of 7 when we match vs the times we don't; the times we match definitely beats the times we don't.

Honestly match with your family or don't, I don't really care. It doesn't concern me. Every family has"traditions" or things that make their family unique. Matching is my family's "thing" and I wish more people wouldn't be so harsh about it.
