Feelings like Coronavirus has taken over and ruined every holiday for you? No more... I have a few quick tips for you!

Valentine's Day is coming up, and I have the perfect way for you to shake things up this year.

Start the day off with a homemade sweet hearts breakfast

Who doesn't love breakfast? I mean, you know what they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Kick off your Valentine's Day Sunday with the sweetest breakfast. Joe loves when I cook him breakfast, so when this idea came to me I knew I had to do it. First, lay out your bacon on the cooking pan in heart shapes. Then bring on the pancakes! Once your batter is whipped up, place a heart shape cookie cutter on the pan and pour the pancake batter into it. When they are done top them off with some whipped cream, Valentines sprinkles', and fresh red strawberries. Joe also loves my special avocado toast, so I am going to use the heart shaped cookie cutters on the toast before putting the avocado on. When all the food is done lay it out so that it says "I *heart* You." Finally, make a strawberry mimosa! All you need is sparking rosé wine, any kind of berry smoothie, and fresh strawberries. So yummy! This sweet hearts breakfast will be the perfect start to your lazy Valentine's Sunday, with your special someone.

Spend the day watching your favorite movies together

Each pick out your favorite movie...or two to snuggle up and watch on the couch. I know I'll be picking my favorite, and I watch it every year on Valentine's Day. I'll be watching "Valentine's Day" the movie. I know...how fitting, right? Even though I watch it every year it still has me cracking up. I'm not sure what movie Joe will pick, but I'm just keeping my fingers crossed its not "Star Wars" (lol his favorite). If breakfast doesn't have you stuffed maybe buy a couple "movie snacks" to munch on throughout the day. Anyway, pop on your favorite movies and just enjoy each other's company while relaxing on the couch all day. Honestly that sounds like the perfect day to me.. I can't wait!

Wear something Valentine's Day themed

I don't know about you guys but I love dressing for the occasion. Call me cheesy but I still wear holiday themed outfits. It kinda just gets me, I don't know....in the spirit. I love feeling festive. I've been really into matching lounge sets lately. I got a couple for Christmas and absolutely love them! It's like you can wear them and be comfy, but still look super cute. Cute and comfy is right up my alley! So I had been searching high and low for "Valentine's Day lounge wear." I didn't exactly care what it looked like I just knew I wanted it to be red, pink, or have a heart pattern. After a couple days of looking I found the perfect set on "Nasty Girl." It hasn't come in yet, but I am super excited to try it on. Turns out I ordered at the right time too because it was on sale for $41...a steal! I know this outfit will get me feeling festive while also being comfy enough to snuggle on the couch all day. It's exactly what I was looking for. Like come on how stinking cute is this set guys?!

Make dinner together

Stay home this year! Don't get me wrong I love going out to eat, but I'm switching things up this year. Not only is Valentines Day on a lazy Sunday, but it's also in the middle of a pandemic. Plus I may just be making up excuses so I can have Joe cook me one his famous steak dinner. I'm not kidding guys it's ahh-maaz-ingg! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Anyway having your dinner date from home isn't such a bad idea. It will be nice to have a low-key, home cooked meal on Valentine's Day. You can still light candles, dim the lights, and whip out a nice table cloth to create the vibe. To me, that's just as special as going out to a fancy dinner. Plus cooking together can be super fun, and is a date in itself.

Top the night off by making chocolate covered strawberries together

Yep, my favorite part. Bring on the chocolate baby! Buy some melting chocolate. Joe and I are gonna buy regular, and pink. Get yourself some fresh strawberries, and get making. This is the perfect way to end your Valentine's Day. I mean what's more fun and romantic than making chocolate covered strawberries with your other half? The answer is nothing. Chocolate covered strawberries are probably my favorite dessert, and I will be looking forward to making and eating them with my love. Not to mention making them from home is so much cheaper (and tastes better) than the ones your "sweetie" was probably gonna order you online.

***You guys already know I will have tons of pictures to share from my "homemade" Valentine's Day...stay tuned***
